About the Recipe
My go-to for hosting or bringing to potlucks! This cake is moist and dense and showcases the rich honey flavor without being overwhelming.

Ingredients
12 tbsp salted Butter softened/room temp (if you use unsalted simply add salt
3/4 Cup Sugar
3 Eggs
2 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
Pinch of salt
1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Sour Creme or Plain Yogurt
3/4 Cup Honey
1 tsp Vanilla (optional)
Preparation
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
In a bowl or stand mixer first combine the butter and sugar till smooth
Add in Sugar, Eggs and remaining wet ingredients, mix till smooth
Add in the Flour and remaining dry ingredients, mix till smooth, it will be a thick batter
Pour into 2 buttered 8 inch cake pans
Bake 35-40 minutes till the tops are golden
This cake is moist and filling as is but they look extra festive with buttercream frosting or glaze. They can also be served separate or you can put one cake over top of the other for a double stacked cake with frosting between! I like to top off with fresh fruit too.
